Rooted in Jesus Christ: Strengthening our roots... Growing in Kingdom fruitfulness

ARCHIVES :  WEEK 1. Jesus stayed spiritually connected and directed.

We can too. Certainly not to the level of perfection of the Lord of the Universe, but as we follow his example. The Rev. Bill Richardson of Mainstay Ministries explains our need this way: "I find that my natural tendency when I am very busy is to reckon that the Lord understands my busyness, even my compulsiveness, and will therefore excuse my not praying. The result is that hollow, dried-up feeling all busy Christians know when they feel drained or find themselves yawning when listening to people and just have no more to give. Jesus, as a matter of routine, would withdraw to pray and, as a result, was able to be present to the people who came to him. In the vernacular of our day, it’s called setting boundaries—not selfishly hoarding time for himself, but recognizing that within his lifeline to the Father intact he would find himself empty, spent, burnt out."
Lord Jesus, help us to become more deeply connected with what matters most. Father in heaven, help us to set aside high-energy time each day to encounter you, listen to you, be directed by you. Holy Spirit, break into our buys lives this month, in order that we may receive your divine comfort and guidance. Let it be so; Amen.
