October is National Domestic Violence Awareness Month, but throughout the year, issues of safety and justice call upon us to be helpful to those who are affected by domestic violence. This danger can happen to all ages, to women and to men, with people of every economic class and social situation. There is no category exempt from this problem.
Our congregation provides to you these resources, so that you can be in prayer for those who are in danger or who have been hurt, physically or emotionally. If you or someone you know is in a dangerous or abusive relationship, take action! You can find spiritual help, and there is practical help too. You need not go through this alone, and you do not need to just "wait" and "hope" that things will get better on their own. The implications can last for years. But a new day can begin, when you take a step toward peace.
